The moment you set your hands on an electronic drum set, I'm pretty sure you are going to get hooked. Even if you don't know a thing about playing drums, the electric drums will introduce you to a new way of learning how to play drums the easier way.
Electronic drums are not to be confused with drum machines. They are intended to simulate the sound of real acoustic drums, but it doesn't all stop there. You also have to play on it like you do on the real acoustic types. The output varies depending on your playing styles, and good electric drum kits follow by the type of acoustic sounds they produce.
One quite amusing electronic drum set is the Roland HD-1 V-Drums which gives you an amazing array of various drum sounds and patterns to work on. You can also check out the Alesis DM6 Kit which is an equally great module to practice on.
A complete set of electric drums will typically come with four drum pads, one hi-hat pad, two cymbal pads, a hi-hat pedal, a sound module, and a bass trigger or pad. You usually have to buy the bass drum pedal separately. it may be a little annoying that you have to make a separate purchase, but it also gives you the ability to get the bass pedal of your choice.
